let's do some weekend reading

Hi Reader,

Just want to catch you up on some late summer reading things as we were away on a little getaway for my husband's birthday at the Maryland hotel where Wedding Crashers was filmed!

(Here's my travel guide.)

We browsed the most swoon-worthy and feminine indie bookstore there, which is always a bonus.

I'm currently working on 3 books:

  • The Seven Year Slip (audio) - just started it, so no opinion yet, but it gets great reviews, and I loved the author's other books mixing romance and magical realism.
  • The God of the Woods (print) - I tried one of summer's hottest books on audio but I couldn't track the characters. Much easier in print. I'm enjoying it!
  • The Kite Runner (print) - My Rory Gilmore Book Club selection. Really good so far, unsurprisingly.

I've also been busy all week updating fall blog posts, and there are a lot of treats in there (if I say so myself), so check them out if you're getting an early start on the new season.

Lastly, I worked with Women's Health and Reader's Digest on a few articles over the summer, and they are now published! If you're in the mood for some light reading with your coffee/tea, this weekend, check them out:
