something new for readers of One Hundred Years in Solitude

Published about 1 month ago • 1 min read

Hi Reader,

Did you read One Hundred Years of Solitude by Nobel Prize winner Gabriel Garcia Marquez? Or has this classic always been on your list?

I read it last year as part of The Rory Gilmore Book Club reading challenge. While many people consider this classic an all-time favorite, I struggled with it because many of the characters have the same name. (C'mon, Marquez!)

Oddly enough, that's what intrigues me most about the upcoming Netflix adaptation. I'll finally be able to fill in the gaps! This is actually one of my favorite ways to make the most out of the classics (especially the "hard" ones).

The trailer for One Hundred Years in Solitude was just released by Netflix, so check it out if you're a fan or plan on reading and/or watching!

Remember, it's a good day to read a book.

Hi Reader, It's officially graduation season! Second, I simply *must* share details on the books referenced in Rory Gilmore's graduation...

Hi Reader, Happy Friday! Want to know how I decompress when the weekend hits? (Besides wine) My Friday night happy hour routine is pairing an audiobook or book adaptation with an at-home mani. Right now, I'm finishing up A Gentleman in Moscow on Paramount Plus. It's one of my all-time favorite books and the adaptation is exactly how I pictured everything. This week, my transition into the weekend is extra special because Olive & June's Summer 2024 collection has been released! The nautical...

Hi Reader, I'm about to start updating all my summer reading blog posts, which got me thinking about reading during this seasonal transition time. Abby Jimenez's latest bestselling book is my top summer beach read so far: The GMA Book Club pick Just for the Summer is light, quirky, and romantic. It's also not too spicy, and the characters still deal with some real-life stuff (it's not just fluff). The good news is that her backlist contains similar novels with many character crossovers. So,...
